LGBT Tech Featured in JDSupra Article on Combating Non-Consensual Intimate Images in Schools

LGBT Tech is proud to be featured in a recent JDSupra article highlighting a groundbreaking model policy designed to address non-consensual intimate image (NCII) sharing in K–12 schools. This new framework, developed in collaboration with the Center for Democracy & Technology (CDT) and ATIXA, brings essential insight into managing and preventing NCII incidents involving both real and AI-generated content.

The model policy was shaped by a diverse working group that included education professionals, survivor advocates, and organizations like LGBT Tech. Together, they recognized NCII as a serious form of online abuse that requires more than just criminal penalties. Schools need clear, compassionate procedures that prioritize privacy, emotional well-being, and prevention.

By blending legal considerations with real-world educational contexts, the model policy sets a new standard for how schools can respond to these incidents. It emphasizes swift and sensitive responses, trauma-informed approaches for reporting, and proactive steps that help create safer environments for students.
