On April 23, the LGBTQ+ & Allies Fundraising committee and our incredible community came together for a powerful and unforgettable night at Pitchers DC during the 2025 IAPP Global Privacy Summit. 'Defyning Privacy' wasn’t just an afterparty, it was a celebration of queer joy, rights, and impact.
Thanks to our amazing sponsors, partners, and attendees, we raised over $78,000, funds that will be split between three organizations doing life-changing work:
LGBT Tech: Working to bridge the technology gap for all LGBTQ individuals. The Institute works with individuals and communities and engages in research, education, volunteerism, and partnerships to provide cutting-edge technology and resources to improve the lives of LGBTQ individuals, especially those that are disadvantaged.
SMYAL: SMYAL supports and empowers LGBTQ+ youth. We actively work to create a world where queer and trans youth thrive through affirming programs and services designed to develop critical life skills, build community, and foster a sense of belonging.
Hacking the Workforce: Hacking the Workforce partnered with RMD Proud to establish the Bridge to Care Fund. Our mission is straightforward: to deliver timely, accessible, and expert gender-affirming care through a virtual, membership-based model, right here in Maryland and Virginia.
