Federal Lifeline Program

On May 11, 2015, the LGBT Technology Partnership & Institute joined 35 other organizations in a letter urging the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to take immediate action to modernize the Lifeline universal service program so that millions of Americans can realize the full potential of the digital broadband age, and obtain this benefit in an efficient and effective manner. This letter was filed in proceeding 11-42 and 03-109. On May 19, 2015, the LGBT Technology Partnership & Institute filed an addendum letter to outline the unique and specific needs for the LGBT community when it comes to the  Lifeline universal service program and reemphasized the importance of modernizing this program at the federal level.
