About the event

In the wake of the pandemic, most of our resources, jobs, education, and social activities have been moved online. Many of our LGBTQ+ community members who do not have access to basic broadband services have been left stranded. Fortunately, the Federal Communications Commission recently released the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program, which provides households with up to $50 a month towards their broadband services. In addition to helping clients receive $50 towards their internet services, EBB also gives eligible households a discount of up to $100 to purchase a device such as a laptop or tablet.

Join LGBT Tech’s Executive Director Chris Wood, and Director of Programs Ellie Bessette, as well as FCC Acting Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel as they explain how exactly EBB works, who is eligible, and how you can participate in providing this crucial resource to your clients, as well as answer any questions about the program.
